Venture Capital Investment Competition - analyzing startups from the perspective of an institutional investor.
Participating in VCIC required a rapid pivot from builder to investor. The goal was to perform due diligence on actual startups, evaluating their technology, market fit, and capitalization tables within a compressed timeframe.
The experience taught the art of the “term sheet”—balancing founder incentives with investor protections. It provided a framework for evaluating which technologies have the structural integrity to survive the “valley of death” between seed and scale.
